There are toilet facilities at the Wally Tew Reserve, and coffee shops in the Ferntree Plaza shopping centre.
Drive to the corner of Mountain Gate Dve. and Holme Rd., Ferntree Gully. Park in Holme Rd.
Walk along Hancock Dve. to enter the Reserve and turn left onto the bitumen track.
Continue on the track, under Glenfern Rd. and under Brenock Park Dve along Ferny Creek. At Acacia Rd. turn right over the pedestrian bridge then hard left to cross the road, past Kings Park on your right, across Willow Rd. up to Dawson St.
Turn left at Dawson St. and walk to the Ferntree Plaza Shopping Centre where there are coffee shops where you can stop for coffee.
After coffee return by the same route. A variation is to turn left at the path just past the Netball Centre, cross over the Ferny creek bed (if dry), turn right onto the narrow rough track and walk along besides the Ferny creek bed until you reach another path opposite Faith Street. Turn right to cross back across Ferny Creek and left onto the bitumen path. Proceed back to Hancock Dve. and the cars.
