Albert Park Lake

This is an excellent walk along the beautiful Albert Park lake.

Melway Map reference: 2KE5 to 2LA12  and then, back to 2KB1

The Melway map reference is given above, however, since the map for this walk extends across more than one Melway map page, I haven't yet worked out how to display it here.

In the meantime, suggest you refer to your Melway or to get an online view of the location, refer to the Google map accessed by clicking on the Location link at the bottom of this post.

Toilet Facilities: Aquatic Centre and picnic area
Coffee stop: Aquatic Centre

Take the 112 tram from the city (cnr Collins St. and Spencer St. The tram stop is in Collins St.) to the corner of Albert Road and Cecil Street. This stop gets you across Albert Road, and drops you near the Aquatic Centre.
Enter the Aquatic Centre for coffee.  The coffee shop is located at the south end of the centre.
After coffee, walk across to the path beside the water and continue around the lake in a clockwise direction.  Follow the walking path to Lakeside Drive and walk along the track on the Lakeshore until you reach the Middle Park toilets and picnic area.
Turn left and follow the track till you reach the tram stop 130.
Take tram 96 to South Melbourne market where you can indulge in some delicious dim sims for lunch.
After that return to the tram for a trip back to the city.
